Contemporary scholars differ. Several major fiqh bodies have permitted donation subject to conditions, while some scholars maintain the prohibition on violating the body. Decide it in advance with a scholar, because the timeframe leaves no room for consultation.
In Canadian law
Registered provincially and generally acted on within hours of death.
We have not yet researched whether the four Sunni schools differ on this term, so we are not going to tell you either way. Where a specific case turns on it, ask a qualified scholar rather than relying on a general summary.
