Combining positions from different schools into one composite ruling.

In Islamic law

Selecting the most convenient position from each school is generally criticised. It matters in inheritance because mixing, say, the Hanafi position on radd with a Maliki position elsewhere can produce a distribution no school would accept.

In Canadian law

A practical warning: an estate plan assembled from several online sources may be internally incoherent. Have one scholar review the whole plan.

Across the madhahib

We have not yet researched whether the four Sunni schools differ on this term, so we are not going to tell you either way. Where a specific case turns on it, ask a qualified scholar rather than relying on a general summary.
