Prayer times at Masjid an-Noor (St. Catharines Mosque)

Worked out from this masjid’s coordinates for today’s date. They are not Masjid an-Noor (St. Catharines Mosque)’s announced jamaa‘ah times — those are set by the masjid and usually differ. Check islamicsocietyofstcatharines.ca for the jamaa‘ah timetable.

Today

Calculated prayer times for Masjid an-Noor (St. Catharines Mosque), St. Catharines, for today’s date.
PrayerBegins
FajrDawn — ends at sunrise
SunriseFajr ends; no prayer at this moment
DhuhrJust after the sun crosses the meridian
AsrSet by the shadow ratio you choose below
MaghribAt sunset
IshaNightfall

These are calculated times, not Masjid an-Noor (St. Catharines Mosque)’s jamaa‘ah times. They are worked out in your browser from this masjid’s own coordinates and today’s date, using the ISNA convention — the same arithmetic a printed timetable uses. What a masjid announces is something else: iqamah is set by the masjid, usually a chosen number of minutes after the prayer begins, and many hold it at a fixed clock time for weeks at a stretch. So the two will not match, and they are not meant to. For the times the congregation actually prays, check the masjid’s own site or phone (905) 641-8007.

Janazah & burial services

Together with the Islamic Society of Niagara Peninsula (Lyons Creek Rd, Niagara Falls) this mosque runs burials for the whole Niagara Peninsula at the Islamic Cemetery of Niagara on Yokom Road, Niagara Falls. Body washing facilities and wooden burial boxes with shrouds are available at both mosques. Transport is marked false because the published process states the cemetery has no hearse and a funeral home must move the body from place of death to mosque and mosque to cemetery. CAUTION: the details here come from ISNP's cemetery page (a partner organisation), not the mosque's own website, which could not be found; the street number on Geneva Street is unconfirmed - verify by phone.

Each line below is either confirmed from the organisation’s own material or marked as not confirmed. We publish the gaps rather than guess at them.

About Masjid an-Noor (St. Catharines Mosque)

Masjid an-Noor was founded in 1994 by the late brother Hamdani, according to the mosque's own history page, and the Islamic Society of St. Catharines was granted charitable registration by the CRA effective 1 January 1995 (BN 893769463RR0001). The mosque sits at 117 Geneva Street in central St. Catharines and describes itself as having grown from a place of worship into a community centre with youth programmes and educational initiatives. It has continued filing its T3010 returns through the 2025 fiscal year and in 2026 hired five summer staff under the federal Canada Summer Jobs programme.

What we haven’t confirmed

We could not establish: On-site mortuary, Cold storage, Ghusl for women, by women, Janazah prayer, 24-hour janazah line. Those are published as gaps rather than filled with a plausible guess. If you know the answer — especially if you are from this organisation — tell us and we will verify and update the listing.

Planning ahead, rather than in a crisis?

The two things a funeral coordinator asks a family for are the burial wishes and the will. Recording where your will is kept and working out the inheritance shares now spares your family both questions at the worst possible moment.
