The London Muslim Mosque is hailed as the first mosque in Ontario and the second mosque in Canada.' Elsewhere on the same page it lists 'Canada's oldest mosque in operation' among its distinguishing features. CRA's Charities Listing records LONDON MUSLIM MOSQUE, BN 863045654RR0001, London ON, as Registered with an effective date of status of 1968-01-01 — four years after the doors opened, and more than a decade after the community effort the mosque dates to the 1950s. The mosque runs its own licensed funeral transfer service (Bereavement Authority of Ontario licence TS-1501, TSO Class 2 - Restricted) and directs burials to the Islamic Cemetery of London at 6100 White Oak Road, which it notes is managed by the Islamic Centre of Southwest Ontario.
