A family-owned commercial cemetery in the Sardis area of Chilliwack, licensed as a public cemetery ("Vedder View Gardens Cemetery is licensed as a public cemetery and is one of the few family-owned cemeteries in British Columbia"). Not an Islamic cemetery: its own site sells casket burial, cremation burial and cremation niche inurnment to the general public, so all_muslim is recorded as false. It carries at least two separate Muslim burial areas run by two different communities: (1) the BC Muslim Association's own funeral page states "The B.C. Muslim Association owns burial plots in the lower mainland area at the following cemeteries: Ocean View, Victory Memorial Park, Vedder View Gardens" - six BCMA branch mosques already in this directory (Abbotsford, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey East, Surrey/Delta, Vancouver) name Vedder View as where they bury; and (2) the Az-Zahraa Islamic Centre (operating as The Shia Muslim Community of British Columbia) lists a section here called "Behest-e-Zahraa" on its own cemeteries page, with the same street address and phone. Neither the acreage, the size of the Muslim areas, plot availability, nor whether graves face qiblah is stated on any source page - the cemetery's own site does not mention Muslim burial at all. Office hours Mon-Fri 8:00-16:00; weekends by appointment. Call before relying on availability.

Mosques that bury here
These organisations name this cemetery on their own funeral pages. That is confirmation from the masjid, not from the cemetery.
Arranging a burial here
- Contact the masjid handling the janazah first — most cemeteries deal with the funeral provider rather than the family directly.
- Ask what the plot costs and, separately, what opening and closing the grave costs. They are almost always billed apart, and the second surprises people.
- Ask whether the section faces qiblah and what markers are permitted.
- See what a Muslim burial costs across Canada before you commit — plot prices vary more than fourfold between cities.
What we haven’t confirmed
We could not establish: size, whether plots are available. Those are published as gaps rather than filled with a plausible guess. If you know the answer — especially if you are from this organisation — tell us and we will verify and update the listing.
Planning ahead, rather than in a crisis?
The two things a funeral coordinator asks a family for are the burial wishes and the will. Recording where your will is kept and working out the inheritance shares now spares your family both questions at the worst possible moment.
