Cost is not the first thing to solve. These numbers are answered around the clock and the people on them do this every week:
Abbotsford Islamic Center (BC Muslim Association) — (604) 727-8001 · Masjid Al-Salaam and Education Centre (BC Muslim Association - Burnaby Branch) — (604) 727-8001 · Masjid Ur-Rahmah — (604) 727-8001
Metro Vancouver is the most expensive place in Canada to bury a Muslim, and the least transparent. The reason is land: cemetery plots in the Lower Mainland have been rising far faster than inflation, and the region has very few dedicated Muslim burial spaces. The BC Muslim Association coordinates burials largely at Vedder View Gardens Cemetery in Chilliwack, roughly 100 km east of Vancouver, and Bakerview Memorial in Langley operates a 'Crescent Section' for Muslim families with graves oriented toward the Qibla. Neither the BCMA nor Bakerview publishes an actual price list. British Columbia also makes a funeral director structurally unavoidable - under the BC process the funeral director registers the death and issues both the death certificate and the disposition permit. TREAT THIS REGION'S TOTALS AS LOW-CONFIDENCE: they are assembled from a cemetery's own marketing blog and one undated secondary listing, not from published tariffs.
DO NOT PRESENT THIS AS A PRECISE RANGE. No Lower Mainland Muslim burial provider publishes a price list. The floor comes from an undated third-party listing of a $5,000 plot at Vedder View Gardens in Chilliwack; the upper end reflects Bakerview Memorial's own statement that burial sites start from $11,900 in Langley, plus BC's unavoidable funeral director costs, which are not published. Better phrasing for a public page: 'in Metro Vancouver the plot alone commonly runs from about $5,000 in the Fraser Valley to $11,900 and up closer to the city, before any funeral service costs - families should get written quotes.'

What we could not confirm
Published so you know where the numbers stop:
- No published price list from BCMA, Bakerview Memorial, or Vedder View Gardens. All three need phone calls: BCMA 604-727-8001, Bakerview (604) 856-0330, Vedder View 604-824-5577.
- The City of Vancouver Mountain View Cemetery Schedule of Fees (effective January 1, 2025) exists as a PDF at vancouver.ca but returned HTTP 403 and could not be read. Retrieve it directly - it is the one authoritative Vancouver-area fee document.
- No BC death certificate or disposition permit fee was found on a government page.
- No opening and closing / interment fee is published anywhere in the Lower Mainland.
- The $5,000 Vedder View plot figure is the single least reliable number in this dataset. Either verify it or drop it.
- Whether BCMA actually has a licensed Muslim funeral director now, or is still working toward one, is unclear from its own site.
- bcmuslims.com was unreachable (connection refused) throughout this research - retry later, it may hold pricing.
