The mosque side of it is comparatively modest - the Islamic Foundation of Toronto's full basic service (transfer, cold storage, ghusl, kafan, plain plywood coffin, documentation and burial-site attendance) is $1,674 plus $218 HST. The cemetery is what moves the number: interment rights range from $1,915 at Muslim Green Cemeteries Corporation in Richmond Hill to $4,500 at Toronto Muslim Cemetery, and grave opening and closing adds roughly $1,400 to $1,650 on top.

In Ontario the burial permit is issued by the local municipal clerk's office at the time the death is registered, and it is required for burial. The fee is municipal, not provincial, so it varies: GTA Muslim providers quote $55 (Islamic Foundation of Toronto, Madinah Masjid) to $65-$100 (ISNA Canada). Toronto Muslim Cemetery does not publish any prices on its own website - the $4,500 adult interment rights figure comes from the Islamic Foundation of Toronto's 2026 disbursement list, not from TMC directly. TMC's own grave opening and closing fee was not obtained; the $1,400-$1,650 range used in the total is drawn from Duffin Meadows and MGCC, which are comparable GTA cemeteries, and is flagged as such rather than presented as TMC's price.
An older version of the IFT price list appears in search indexes showing TMC adult interment rights at $3,800 and grave open/close at $1,200 with $200 for extra depth. Those figures are superseded by the January 1, 2026 list read directly for this research and should NOT be used.
No care and maintenance fund contribution is separately disclosed by any GTA cemetery reached. It is embedded in the interment rights price.
