About Wilmot Muslim Centre

Wilmot Muslim Centre (WMC) describes itself as a mosque and spiritual sanctuary serving the Muslim community of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo, offering the five daily prayers, Jumu'ah, Taraweeh and Eid congregations alongside Qur'anic studies and religious education. It is governed through a Board of Directors, an Executive Committee, an Advisory Board and a Women's Committee, with a General Assembly of active members. The centre is also establishing the Wilmot Muslim Centre Cemetery at its own Knechtel Court address: it has submitted proposed cemetery by-laws — covering interment rights, burial procedures, memorialisation, and care and maintenance — to the Registrar under Ontario's Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002 for approval, and states that interested parties may request copies. Those by-laws were still described as proposed and awaiting the Registrar's approval when we checked on 1 September 2026, so the cemetery is not recorded here as an operating burial ground. The centre also notes that wudu facilities at the site are currently unavailable and asks visitors to make arrangements before attending.
