DhuhrJust after the sun crosses the meridian
AsrSet by the shadow ratio you choose below
MaghribAt sunset
IshaNightfall

These are calculated times, not Masjidur Rahmah (Central Toronto Islamic Foundation)’s jamaa‘ah times. They are worked out in your browser from this masjid’s own coordinates and today’s date, using the ISNA convention — the same arithmetic a printed timetable uses. What a masjid announces is something else: iqamah is set by the masjid, usually a chosen number of minutes after the prayer begins, and many hold it at a fixed clock time for weeks at a stretch. So the two will not match, and they are not meant to. For the times the congregation actually prays, check the masjid’s own site or phone (416) 901-5122.

Janazah & burial services

Masjid in the heart of downtown Toronto's Regent Park, operated by the Central Toronto Islamic Foundation. Established December 2011; the property - previously commercial and residential - was purchased for the Foundation in 2012, funded almost entirely by community donations. Its downtown location near the universities and business district makes it heavily used by Muslim students, professionals and travellers, with hundreds attending each week for the five daily prayers and Jumu'ah. Masjid service hours (from the Foundation's own Contact page): open 20 minutes before Fajr and closing after Ishraq, then reopening 30 minutes before Dhuhr and closing 30 minutes after Isha, weekdays and weekends alike. The masjid hosts a madrassah, Madrassah-tut-Tarbiyah, running a full-time Hifz class plus evening and weekend classes, and community programs for youth and adults. NO JANAZAH INFORMATION IS PUBLISHED. Every reachable page was read this session - Home, Our History, Contact, Useful Links (empty) - and funerals, janazah, ghusl and burial appear nowhere; the site has no funeral page and no separate funeral number. Two pages, Our Imam and Forms, sit behind a bot-protection/CAPTCHA screen and could not be read even with a browser user-agent or a read-through proxy, so it is possible - though unevidenced - that a janazah form lives behind the Forms page. Silence is not a 'no', so every funeral field is left unconfirmed rather than marked as not offered. CALL 416-901-5122 AND ASK before referring a family here, and ask specifically whether the Forms page holds a janazah application.

Each line below is either confirmed from the organisation’s own material or marked as not confirmed. We publish the gaps rather than guess at them.

What we haven’t confirmed

We could not establish: On-site mortuary, Cold storage, Ghusl facility, Ghusl for women, by women, Kafan (shroud), Transport of the deceased and more. Those are published as gaps rather than filled with a plausible guess. If you know the answer — especially if you are from this organisation — tell us and we will verify and update the listing.

Planning ahead, rather than in a crisis?

The two things a funeral coordinator asks a family for are the burial wishes and the will. Recording where your will is kept and working out the inheritance shares now spares your family both questions at the worst possible moment.
