Private K-12 Islamic school, a registered non-profit founded in 2017 by a group of Muslim educators to serve the GTA; teaches the Ontario curriculum plus Islamic studies and offers Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Three campuses, all three registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education (Ontario REGISTERS and INSPECTS private schools; it does not accredit them): GLA Toronto/Scarborough (BSID 669627, 431 Nugget Ave, Elem/Sec, offers OSSD credits), GLA Clarington (BSID 668438, 2038 Nash Rd, Bowmanville, Elem/Sec, offers OSSD credits) and GLA Durham/Ajax (BSID 668534, 2944 Audley Rd, Ajax, Elementary only, no OSSD credits). Principal/Head of School: Riyad Khan. Also runs weekday Evening Quran Classes (Qur'an and Islamic Studies) at the Durham campus. ADDRESS DISCREPANCY: the school's own Contact page gives the Scarborough postal code as M1S 4J5, while the Ontario Ministry registry gives M1S 4A4; the registry value is retained here and the discrepancy is unresolved. Tuition, sibling discounts and the $650 supply fee are published on the school's own admissions page (see school.tuition_note). Weekend school, hifz stream, enrolment, busing and before/after care are NOT published anywhere on the school's site - call 416-297-0770 to confirm.

About Gibraltar Leadership Academy

The academy's own history page states: 'Gibraltar Leadership Academy, a registered non-profit organization, was founded in 2017 by a dedicated group of Muslim educators to serve the diverse Muslim community in the Greater Toronto Area.' Its stated vision is to 'instil Islamic character in our students, ensuring their development as socially responsible citizens of Canada', and its mission that 'Students will revive their knowledge and practice of Islam through exploration of their faith, acts of worship, and interactions with each other. The focus will be to teach students to live the tradition of Islam in a modern day context.' It has grown to three campuses - Scarborough (the flagship), Clarington and Durham/Ajax - all registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education. It has NO CRA charity registration: a search of the Charities Listings for 'Gibraltar' returns zero results, and the academy describes itself only as a registered non-profit, which in Canada is not the same thing.
