About Ismaili Jamatkhana Richmond
The Richmond jamatkhana is a purpose-built two-storey assembly building at 4000 May Drive, constructed by Prism Construction as a roughly 13,000 sq ft religious and community facility for Ismaili Muslims. Before it was built, the Ismaili community in Richmond worshipped in leased premises for more than 25 years. The building is administered within the structure of His Highness Prince Aga Khan Shia Imami Ismaili Council for Canada, based at 49 Wynford Drive, Toronto. It has opened its doors to the public for guided tours through the Richmond Museum's Doors Open Richmond programme, though photography of the prayer hall is not permitted.
