The main mosque for Red Deer and central Alberta, operated by the Central Alberta Islamic Cultural Association (CAICA), a registered charity. The first meeting of Red Deer's Muslim pioneers was in February 1976; CAICA was registered in July 1988 and the Salah El Deen Masjid opened 15 October 1994. A new, larger masjid project broke ground in the Timberlands area and the centre is still fundraising for it. No janazah/funeral information is published on the centre's own website — a family needing funeral help should phone the centre directly.
