Prayer times at Islam Care Centre
Worked out from this masjid’s coordinates for today’s date. They are not Islam Care Centre’s announced jamaa‘ah times — those are set by the masjid and usually differ. Check islamcare.ca for the jamaa‘ah timetable.

These are calculated times, not Islam Care Centre’s jamaa‘ah times. They are worked out in your browser from this masjid’s own coordinates and today’s date, using the ISNA convention — the same arithmetic a printed timetable uses. What a masjid announces is something else: iqamah is set by the masjid, usually a chosen number of minutes after the prayer begins, and many hold it at a fixed clock time for weeks at a stretch. So the two will not match, and they are not meant to. For the times the congregation actually prays, check the masjid’s own site or phone (613) 232-0210.
Janazah & burial services
Downtown Ottawa Muslim social-services organization and mosque space, serving the community since 1993 (registered charity since 1999); programs include support for the homeless, converts, seniors and palliative patients. CAUTION: islamcare.ca returned HTTP 403 to automated fetches during this check, so address/phone could only be confirmed via third-party search aggregation, not by directly reading their own site — recommend a direct call to verify before publishing. No janazah/funeral service details found.
Each line below is either confirmed from the organisation’s own material or marked as not confirmed. We publish the gaps rather than guess at them.

About Islam Care Centre
Islam Care Centre began in 1992 as a storefront 'Dawah Centre' in downtown Ottawa and has operated since as the city's downtown Muslim social-service organization and mosque. It was federally incorporated as a registered Canadian charity effective November 18, 1999 (a date confirmed by CRA's Charities Listing), and later moved to a Lisgar Street building with expanded prayer space including a sisters' prayer area. It offers Quran classes for children, support for new Muslims, women fleeing violence, isolated seniors, and people experiencing homelessness.
From the organisation’s own pages, checked 13 Aug 2026 — see the sources below.
What we haven’t confirmed
We could not establish: On-site mortuary, Cold storage, Ghusl facility, Ghusl for women, by women, Kafan (shroud), Transport of the deceased and more. Those are published as gaps rather than filled with a plausible guess. If you know the answer — especially if you are from this organisation — tell us and we will verify and update the listing.
Planning ahead, rather than in a crisis?
The two things a funeral coordinator asks a family for are the burial wishes and the will. Recording where your will is kept and working out the inheritance shares now spares your family both questions at the worst possible moment.
