Islamic elementary private school in Niagara Falls, listed in the Ontario Ministry of Education registry (BSID 669809), principal Zeinab Saleh, contact info@almahdilearninginstitute.ca. The registry's website field contains an email address rather than a URL, and no working site was found, so grades, gender, tuition and enrolment are unconfirmed - call before relying on this listing. The name suggests a Shia affiliation but no source confirms it, so affiliation is left as independent. Included although Niagara Falls is outside the 16 assigned cities, because it is the nearest Islamic school to St. Catharines. Registered with the Ontario Ministry of Education as a private school (BSID 669809); it does not offer OSSD credits, and Ontario only inspects credit-granting secondary private schools, so accreditation and inspection are left unconfirmed.

Al-Mahdi Learning Institute opened its doors to students in September 2019 at 8333 Willoughby Drive in Niagara Falls, teaching from junior kindergarten to grade 8 with the stated aim of inspiring God consciousness, moral conduct and good citizenship within an Islamic framework. Its Islamic studies follow the Tarbiyah Curriculum of the Madrasah Centre of Excellence, whose themes are aqaid, fiqh, akhlaq, tarikh and Qur'an, and its Quran programme uses the Al-Bayyan and Iqra curricula. It was granted charitable registration by the CRA effective 1 December 2023 under the charity category 'Teaching Institutions'.
From the organisation’s own pages, checked 13 Aug 2026 — see the sources below.
Shia — The institute states that it follows the Tarbiyah Curriculum developed by the Madrasah Centre of Excellence, a curriculum of the World Federation of Khoja Shia Ithna-Asheri Muslim Communities that it describes as implemented by Shia madaris worldwide. That is a report we have not confirmed with the organisation itself, and we would rather show you where it came from than present it as settled.
What we haven’t confirmed
We could not establish: grade range, co-ed or single-sex, hifz program, credit-granting status, busing, before/after care. Those are published as gaps rather than filled with a plausible guess. If you know the answer — especially if you are from this organisation — tell us and we will verify and update the listing.
