Prayer times at Masjid As-Salam
Worked out from this masjid’s coordinates for today’s date. They are not Masjid As-Salam’s announced jamaa‘ah times — those are set by the masjid and usually differ. Check assalam.info for the jamaa‘ah timetable.

These are calculated times, not Masjid As-Salam’s jamaa‘ah times. They are worked out in your browser from this masjid’s own coordinates and today’s date, using the ISNA convention — the same arithmetic a printed timetable uses. What a masjid announces is something else: iqamah is set by the masjid, usually a chosen number of minutes after the prayer begins, and many hold it at a fixed clock time for weeks at a stretch. So the two will not match, and they are not meant to. For the times the congregation actually prays, check the masjid’s own site.
Janazah & burial services
ADDRESS CHANGED - RELOCATION IN PROGRESS (flagged 2026-08-16). The record previously held 1232 Rue Stanley, which the mosque's own About page now describes as its ORIGINAL home: 'We started in 2011 on 1232 Stanley Street... Now we're moving into our permanent home on Rue de la Montagne.' The mosque's own Facebook profile and Facebook About now publish the address as 1177 rue de la Montagne, Montreal, so that is what is recorded here. CAVEAT: a January 2026 post on their own Facebook said they were 'in the final stages of establishing our new masjid at 1177 De la Montagne Street. While the space remains under construction, the transition from our previous location is steadily and carefully underway', and in reply to a member asking whether the move had happened the mosque answered 'we have not moved into the new establishment yet.' A human should confirm by phone which building is actually in use before anyone is directed there. Postal code deliberately omitted: their Facebook lists H3B 2S7 against the de la Montagne address, but that is the same postal code previously recorded for the Stanley address, so it is not trustworthy without confirmation. PHONE WARNING: the mosque publishes NO telephone number on any of its own channels - the website (a single-page app; every route /, /about, /services, /location was rendered via a read-through proxy) and Facebook give only email (asalam.mosque@yahoo.com). The 514-545-5466 on this record came from third-party aggregator listings and could not be corroborated against any source the mosque controls; it must be verified by a human before being relied on. JANAZAH: their own /services page lists a complete service set - program calendar, counseling & support, Nikah, Iftar & community events, Zakat assistance - and no funeral, janazah, ghusl or burial service appears anywhere on the site, in the site's JavaScript bundle, or on Facebook. All janazah fields therefore stay null (not confirmed), not false. Founded 2011 per their own About page.
Each line below is either confirmed from the organisation’s own material or marked as not confirmed. We publish the gaps rather than guess at them.

About Masjid As-Salam
The mosque's own site records a five-stage timeline: 'We started in 2011 on 1232 Stanley Street. For over 14 years, we've been one of the few masjids serving downtown Montreal. We've hosted weekly Quran and Fiqh classes, organized daily Iftar for thousands during Ramadan, and stood with our community when it mattered. Now we're moving into our permanent home on Rue de la Montagne.' The stages are: founded 2011 in a Stanley Street basement; expansion in 2015; a search for permanent premises begun in 2021 because 'the community grow over our capacity'; 1177 rue de la Montagne found in 2025 after 'After 1,825 days of searching'; and a 2026 'New Beginning', which the site itself describes as still in progress - 'we are now in the process of building our new masjid' and 'in the process of opening the doors to our new masjid to the community'. The new building is 'a new three-storey building with a full basement, going from 3000 to more than 10,000 square feet'. The imam is Sheikh Ali Danab, a graduate of Al-Azhar University's faculty of Islamic Law with ijazah in three qira'at (Hafs an Asim, Warsh and Qaloon an Nafi'). No CRA charity registration could be matched to this mosque.

What we haven’t confirmed
We could not establish: On-site mortuary, Cold storage, Ghusl facility, Ghusl for women, by women, Kafan (shroud), Transport of the deceased and more. Those are published as gaps rather than filled with a plausible guess. If you know the answer — especially if you are from this organisation — tell us and we will verify and update the listing.
Planning ahead, rather than in a crisis?
The two things a funeral coordinator asks a family for are the burial wishes and the will. Recording where your will is kept and working out the inheritance shares now spares your family both questions at the worst possible moment.
