Today

Calculated prayer times for Islamic Centre of Cambridge, Cambridge, for today’s date.
PrayerBegins
FajrDawn — ends at sunrise
SunriseFajr ends; no prayer at this moment
DhuhrJust after the sun crosses the meridian
AsrSet by the shadow ratio you choose below
MaghribAt sunset
IshaNightfall

These are calculated times, not Islamic Centre of Cambridge’s jamaa‘ah times. They are worked out in your browser from this masjid’s own coordinates and today’s date, using the ISNA convention — the same arithmetic a printed timetable uses. What a masjid announces is something else: iqamah is set by the masjid, usually a chosen number of minutes after the prayer begins, and many hold it at a fixed clock time for weeks at a stretch. So the two will not match, and they are not meant to. For the times the congregation actually prays, check the masjid’s own site or phone (519) 740-6855.

Janazah & burial services

ICC is a fully licensed Ontario funeral home and Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) restricted Transfer Service Operator (License #TSOR-1554), with two licensed Funeral Directors (Mohammad Darr, Aisha Forsythe) - one of the very few Ontario mosques that IS the licensed funeral provider itself rather than just coordinating with an outside funeral home. Established 1980 (as Pakistan Canada Association, purchasing an old schoolhouse on Wellington Rd 32); moved to 1550 Dunbar Rd 1984-89; Registered Charity #11923-8699-RR0001. ICC owns/operates the International School of Cambridge (see separate school entity) on the same site, plus a weekend Sunday School (grades 1-8, Oct-Dec curriculum cycle) and evening Quran classes. Grave section allocated for Muslim burials at New Hope Cemetery, owned/operated by the City of Cambridge.

About Islamic Centre of Cambridge

The centre's about page carries the line 'EST. 1982'. CRA registered THE ISLAMIC CENTRE OF CAMBRIDGE (119238699RR0001) effective 1983-03-18 at 1550 Dunbar Rd - the centre's own address - about a year later. An earlier capture of the centre's website (2026-08) recorded a predecessor body, the Pakistan Canada Association, buying an old schoolhouse on Wellington Road 32 in 1980 and the community moving to 1550 Dunbar Road between 1984 and 1989; that narrative is no longer on the rebuilt site. Its imam is Prof. Dr. Mohamed Magdy Abdul Majeed El-Safoury, who holds a PhD and Master's in Hadith from Al-Azhar University. ICC is unusual in being the licensed funeral provider itself rather than a coordinator: it holds BAO restricted Transfer Service Operator licence TSOR-1554 and has two licensed funeral directors.

What we haven’t confirmed

We could not establish: 24-hour janazah line. Those are published as gaps rather than filled with a plausible guess. If you know the answer — especially if you are from this organisation — tell us and we will verify and update the listing.

Planning ahead, rather than in a crisis?

The two things a funeral coordinator asks a family for are the burial wishes and the will. Recording where your will is kept and working out the inheritance shares now spares your family both questions at the worst possible moment.
