The Canadian position
A legally adopted child inherits on intestacy and under a will identically to a biological child. There is no distinction in Canadian law.
The Islamic position
Classical fiqh preserves lineage, so an adopted child does not take a fixed share. Scholars commonly direct that they be provided for from the one third, and some recommend a lifetime gift instead.
This is a question worth putting to a scholar directly, because Canadian adoption is legally complete in a way the classical category was not.

Leaving an adopted child nothing invites both a family rupture and a dependant support claim. Provide deliberately.
